British Values

Our Statement of Intent

Our aim at Elysium Training is to ensure that we provide information, advice and guidance to Apprentices, Employers and Staff to enable them to be well rounded individuals who function well in modern Britain. We aspire to do this by continually championing the fundamental British Values in collaboration with our own core values – ‘Responsive, Inclusive, Striving for Excellence and Trustworthy’.

What are the British Values?

This focuses on personal, social and emotional development. It is about learning to value other people’s views and feelings. We can promote this by providing an environment of freedom and equality where children and young people are encouraged to be involved in decision-making. We need to ensure young people have a voice and are respectful.

Individual Liberty:

This also focuses on personal, social and emotional development. Freedom for all is to be promoted along with diversity to be understood and celebrated to support equality and inclusion. Opportunities should be offered so that children and young people can develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and increase their confidence, being allowed to take risks and be valued in the organisation. Elysium Training will encourage learners to discuss the extent that individual liberty exists or is limited by regulation. They might also discuss their own freedom of choice in terms of future education & career choices.

Rule of Law:

This focuses on managing feelings and behaviours, children and young people understanding about consequences and learning/understanding right from wrong. It is about understanding and being aware of rules/boundaries/law as well as being encouraged to be involved in rule making for the organisation. Elysium Training will encourage learners to research Health & Safety laws which regulate industry or review the Health & Safety processes within Elysium Training or their workplace.

Mutual Respect and Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs:

This focuses on people and communities, managing behaviours, making relationships and understanding the world. Positive relationships and showing respect towards others should be promoted to learn to respect other faiths, beliefs and cultures and engage with the wider community. Mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs may be found in the curriculum but will also be part of the expected behaviour in the Elysium Training and the employer organisation.

Promoting our company through British Values is important in order to ensure that everyone gains awareness towards life in modern Britain, respecting other views and celebrating other culture and faiths.
